Just as people have charts based on their time, place, and date of birth, so do animals. A pet’s horoscope tells you about the animal’s basic nature, and also shows how it will fit in with your household.

Khu, a beautiful Egyptian Mau, was born under the royal sign of Leo. One might almost have guessed as much when you see how this cat rules the Silman-Feldman household. The fourth house is the region of one’s chart, which governs the home. Voila, Khu has the planet of despotism, Pluto, situated therein. But this finicky feline is not without responsibilities. Khu knows it is his job 24/7 to make sure that Gwen and Jeremy know if there’s an animal anyway near their house.

With his Jupiter (the planet ruling good luck) in the 5th house of creativity in the sign of Capricorn, Khu has a special mission. He is a familiar. As such Khu is a spirit whose true calling is to be an attendant to a sorcerer, in this case Jeremy. Ever wonder how Jeremy has time to get involved in some many endeavors? Look no further than this leonine cat.

Venus and Mars are both in Cancer in the 11th house of friendships, so this cat has a long memory. If one of his human friends disappoints him, you can bet that Khu will give him/her the cold shoulder until a point is made. However befriend this animal and he will never forget your kindness.

With his moon ruling the emotions in Gemini in the 10th house, this cat gives new meaning to the word, moody. One day he’s up at dawn, next he’ll sleep ’til 3 PM. His schedule is erratic for the Gemini temperament hates any routine.

One thing you can be sure of: When Jeremy or Gwen has a deadline, Khu will know it. Then suddenly he’ll require water, ask for a walk, and need to play or decide that he wants a more expensive brand of cat food. To keep him satiated, Leos - both animals and humans - need compliance. Leos will pester, infuriate you, plead and maneuver until you tow the line. In most cases the simplest way to handle this is to give in.

Least you think Khu is a demanding, temperamental cat, take note that his distracting behavior has a purpose. He likes to shake things up, disrupt the status quo and keep his home atmosphere exciting, vibrant and fun as do others of his sign.

Mars in Cancer makes him a bit jealous and therefore visitors cause him to parade around and do what he can to draw attention to himself. Tricks? No, that’s for circus animals Khu thinks. His Mercury, which rules how he communications, is in Virgo, Jeremy’s sign. And, like Silman he doesn’t suffer fools or foolish rules easily. His Uranus is in its most harmonious sign, Aquarius and it is in the 6th house of food. This position creates a need for unusual minerals and vitamins along with a highly educated palate.

In his chart the part of fortune is in Taurus in the 10th house. The part of fortune denotes where your happiness lies and in the 10th house it means Khu craves a career in the public eye. Already he’s worked as a "cat model" and is anxious for more exposure. But his love of being with Jeremy and helping him with his chess writing keeps him from stardom. He takes quiet satisfaction in serving as the "Celestial Chess Cat".
