Jack
Peters, an extremely strong player who has
won countless tournaments, has been the Los
Angeles Times chess columnist since 1982. Competing
far less in recent years, he spends his time
writing about chess (he has several books to
his credit) and teaching chess to both children
and adults. These are the first book reviews
he has written in more than 20 years and we're
honored to have him on our site.
