EXCELLING AT CHESS CALCULATION by Jacob Aagard
I’m a bit torn by this one, but books that try and improve your calculation (which is very different than books on tactics or strategy) are few and far between, so Aagard’s latest deserves a read. There is lots of stuff of interest, even if you don’t agree with everything he has to say. (1600 on up)
STORMING THE BARRICADES by Larry Christiansen
America’s greatest attacking genius (since Marshall) tells us how attacks should be formed. Very enjoyable. (1400 on up)
WINNING CHESS TACTICS by Yasser Seirawan with Silman
An excellent way to learn the ABCs of tactics. (1000 to 1800)
