This is an excellent book for the advanced student of dreams. I would encourage those that are interested in this path to follow the instructions of “Dream Yoga and the Practice of Natural Light” first. There are other good books out on dreaming, and even if you have started from the limited views of western civilization you can expand your horizons greatly. I will also write a book or some articles on my more specific recommendations in the near future.

If you are a determined student of shamanism or of the teachings of the master Don Juan then this is as good a set of instruction as you are likely to get until you seek out a living teacher. Please note that I do rate it highly, even with an active warning.

This book explains four gates of dreaming and common problems in opening each of them. Dreamer beware!

A rich bonus is some practical instruction and philosophical elaboration on recapitulation. Recapitulation is an excellent portal for those that are too fragmented or distracted to do more advanced practices. It also can be useful in fast-forwarding the intermediate student. It will always yield better results if one has a living teacher.
